SAC Membership and Adoption Intern (2018)

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) is seeking a Membership & Adoption Intern. The internship term requested is 2 to 3 months. The start date in 2018 is flexible (preferably sometime between July and October) and can be negotiated. Graduate/master’s student preferred but not required.

The overall objective of the Membership & Adoption Intern is to complete a project that supports enhancing the value of the Higg Index tools to stakeholders, including SAC members, and to provide general support to the Membership Team. Project deliverables are subject to change upon prioritization throughout the internship.

Higg Index Modules Adoption & Analytics Support

The SAC is working to design an annual Higg Index adoption and performance report, which will analyze trends associated with the SAC’s 230 members and 8,000+ Higg Index accounts/users. This internship project will focus on making a recommendation for meaningful and actionable analytics and data visualizations that should be included in this report for the purpose of driving industry action on environmental performance improvement and engagement with the Higg Index

The intern will:

  • Become deeply familiar with current and historical Higg Index data, how it has been used to date, and how it can be used by various audiences
  • Interview staff, SAC members, and Higg Index users to understand and collect information on how Higg data can be applied and presented most effectively to drive environmental performance improvement within the industry and how companies are currently using their data internally
  • Assist with supplemental analysis of current data sets and development of insights and reports from findings
  • Assist with review and creation of prioritized Higg training resources, including the comprehensive “How to Higg Guide,” which provides detailed guidance and links to resources for every question in the Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) assessment.
  • Support Higg Index user communication campaigns to guide users through the module completion process, how to interpret results, and identify opportunities for improvement

Membership Team Support

The intern will:

  • Support membership engagement/management activities, including review and creation of member resources, engagement tracking processes, etc.
  • Assist with the development and analysis of member data to help improve SAC membership tracking (via Salesforce or other methods) to improve member management, engagement, and retention
  • Support the development and documentation of the standard membership processes and reporting of ongoing member engagement and tracking
  • Support communication efforts through member platform updates
  • Assist Membership Team with other ad-hoc projects related to SAC member engagement, support, communications, etc.
