global apparel and footwear industry who recognize addressing our current social and environmental

challenges are both a business imperative and an opportunity.

Through multi-stakeholder engagement, the SAC seeks to lead the industry toward a shared vision

of sustainability built upon a common approach for measuring and evaluating apparel and footwear

product sustainability performance that will spotlight priorities for action and opportunities for

technological innovation.

The organization is growing rapidly, with over 100% membership and revenue growth over the past

two years. The SAC comprises over 230 members, representing approximately one half of the global

apparel and footwear industry.

Job Description

The Operations Coordinator will report to the Director, Finance and Operations, and will provide

administrative, office management, and bookkeeping support for the SAC staff in Amsterdam. The

employee will also provide membership and SAC support services in Europe, such as membership

renewals, invoicing, contract administration, and HR support. As coordinator of SAC’s European

office this position will set the tone for the workplace and be charged with providing whatever is

required to maintain an upbeat positive workplace that fosters cooperation and creativity.

Responsibilities and Duties

Operational and office support:

  • Implement and manage established office policies, standards and procedures
  • Develop and support a collaborative, creative, and upbeat office environment
  • Coordinate and provide support for office and local events, staff meetings and team events. Creating a welcoming environment for everyone
  • Maintain office systems, such as physical and digital filing and email. Work with Fashion for Good to assure adequate support is provided to staff
  • Assist management with all aspects of HR including the recruitment of new hires, onboarding, and keeping current with local employment laws as directed by hiring managers.
  • Serve as liaison between Europe and US offices to coordinate HR efforts. Must be fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Work with staff to coordinate travel booking for events that require attendance by multiple staff members
  • Field incoming inquiries from inside and outside the organization and direct to the appropriate Staff member   

Membership & Finance Support:

  • Fully coordinate monthly invoicing of annual European membership renewal efforts from initial prep to deactivation
  • Manage membership A/R, invoice follow up and bank deposits. Direct efforts to collect past due invoices on an ongoing basis
  • Process monthly staff expense reports and coordinate approvals, including SAC credit card and reimbursable reports
  • Track and manage employee holidays, Work From Home (WFH) days and sick leave/Arbo
  • Manage monthly invoicing, lead collections efforts and work closely with staff to maintain positive cash flow for all programs run by the Amsterdam office                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Qualifications and Skills

  • The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
  • 2-3 years’ experience in office administration, bookkeeping and financial management
  • 4-year university degree
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Grant Management experience a real plus
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Enjoys a fast pace, dynamic, challenging and team-oriented work environment
  • Solid computer and business software skills in all or most major platforms (Microsoft Office and Google Apps, at a minimum)
  • Has demonstrated a genuine professional or personal interest in sustainability

Compensation and Location 

The SAC offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, as well as the usual benefits.

We also offer optional work-from-home Fridays plus two additional days per month to help maintain a

healthy work/home-life balance. The qualified candidate will be flexible and adaptable to a rapidly

changing environment. The SAC's members are global organizations, and as such, the SAC staff
