The organization is growing rapidly, doubling membership and revenue over the past three years. The SAC comprises over 230 members, representing about half of the global apparel and footwear industry.

Job Summary

The SAC seeks a Finance Manager with a proven record of success to support the Director of Finance with the day-to-day aspects of accounting for a global industry association with operations in the US, Europe, and Asia.  

The Finance Manager is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant administration, budget reporting, and supports audits and accounting processes across the organization.


Responsibilities and Duties

Accounts Payable:

  • Serve as the administrator for payables processing.  
  • Receive and process invoices following approval guidelines.
  • Set up bill payments and wires for release.   
  • Record FX transactions and calculate the spot dollar rate for FX transactions using provided exchange rates.
  • Process monthly expense reports and reimbursements for employees.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Process and send invoices.
  • Process required vendor forms.  
  • Working across programs, follow established process for A/R and collections.  


  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with agreement terms.
  • Update monthly budget vs. actual reports for roll-up and monthly reconciliation.
  • Determine the correct allocation of expenses to grants.
  • Work closely with grant project staff to monitor spending, compliance, and the need for budget modifications and/or extensions.
  • Create or recommend tools and templates to effectively manage grant projects.
  • Assist with annual grant audits.
  • Interact with project teams, the executive team, and funders to provide reporting and to resolve questions.

Human Resources:

Serve as back up for payroll processing and new employee onboarding.


Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with five or more years of experience.
  • Experience with grant accounting and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of accounting, revenue recognition and audit requirements.
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with staff at all levels across the organization.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Enjoy a fast pace, dynamic, challenging and team-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrated professional or personal interest in social and labor issues and/or environmental sustainability.
  • Solid computer and business software skills in platforms such as Excel, PowerPoint, Office, QuickBooks and Google Apps are required; Dropbox, Salesforce.com and Bill.com are preferred.
